In some languages, they are considered to start or separate the seasons, in others they are considered focal points. Similarly 25 December is the beginning of the celebration of Christmas and the day when the sun begins to return to the northern hemisphere.

World's major festivals such as Christmas and holidays are celebrated as the most non-Christian population, many of whom. Some non-Christian countries of the former colonial power in the period to celebrate the introduction, and other Christian minorities and the influence of foreign cultures that has led the population to observe the holiday. I think Christmas is almost finished now, except for the commercial aspect side of things.
