Father's Day Walk/Run for Prostate Cancer
**The first 400 people to register will receive a ticket to any Vancouver Giants regular season game in 2010-2011.**

We suggest that all fundraising participants set a minimum personal fundraising goal of $200 to help us reach our goal of $250,000! We have incentive prizes for anyone that raises over $250.00 and fantastic top collector prizes for the top 20 fundraisers.

**If you collect $125 in pledges your registration fee is waived.**

Date: Sunday June 20, 2010

Time: 10:30 am (registration begins at 8 am and the event starts at 10:30 sharp)

Tot Run:
Begins at 10 am. Free to all kids age 3 - 7.

New: This year we have a 'Kids Zone' where you can make your fathers day gift for your Dad.

What's Happening: There is entertainment and lots to do before the run starts so please come early. Stay and enjoy post-race activities of food, beverages, entertainment and great draw prizes. Don't forget there is a free barbeque for participants! New this year a kid zone with games, face painting and crafts - make a Fathers day gift for Dad.

Location: Run venue is at Burnaby Lake in Burnaby, BC. The run starts at the Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion located off Sperling Avenue on Roberts Street.

Walk/Run Distances: The race course is on a trail around Burnaby Lake. The trail consists of bark mulch, gravel and a small portion of pavement. This is a peaceful, tranquil setting that is closed to traffic.

•5km Walk/Run
•10.8km Run

Prizes: We have 100's of draw prizes, incentive prizes, team prizes and special prizes for the top three runners in the 10k event. There are also fantastic prizes for the top fundraisers (top collectors). Stay tuned for the top collector prizes coming soon.

Parking/Shuttle Bus: NOTE: Parking is limited so we encourage you to use sky train. There will be signs leading you to the parking at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex as well as to the Rowing Pavilion. A shuttle bus is available from the parking lot to the pavilion event site which is beside the Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion.

Transit: A shuttle bus will pick up near the Sperling Sky Train Station every few minutes starting at 7:30 . It will also return you to the skytrain after the event. Watch for volunteers at the station to guide you to the bus.

Directions:

Eastbound: Trans Canada Highway (Hwy 1). Take exit 32, Sprott Street. Head east to Sperling Avenue.

Westbound: Trans Canada Highway (Hwy 1). Take exit 33 north on Kensington Avenue. Head east on Sprott Street to Sperling Avenue.


Registration: ­­­­­­­­­­­­­ The $35 Fee for participants is not a donation & no receipt will be issued for Fees. A Confirmation Email will be sent to you after registration process.


Pre-registration sites: You can pre-register, pick up your t-shirt, bibs and hand in any pledges at the following locations:

Wednesday June 16th 5pm - 8 pm at the Running Room on Denman in Vancouver

Thursday June 17th 5pm - 8 pm at the Running Room in Langley

Thursday June 17th 6pm - 8pm at the Running Room in Richmond

Friday June 18th 5pm - 8 pm at the Running Room in Port Coquitlam



Tax Receipts: A Tax Receipt Email & Confirmation Email for any Online Donations of $20 or more will automatically be sent to you for your Online Pledge Donations.

Teams: There is a minimum of 6 people per team. Please note that if you want your team name printed on your shirt you must have your team finalized by May 28th.

Team Categories: There are top fundaising prizes for the following teams

Friends and Family, Corporate, Safeway, Schools, Survivors.

Online Registration Closes: Saturday June 19th at 6:00 PM Note: Registration will be available on event day at 8:00 am.
