Vancouver Pro Musica presents the McGregor/Nesselroad/Chan trio at the Vancouver Community College Auditorium (1155 East Broadway) as part of our Further East / Further West concert series.

This concert features Mark Takeshi McGregor (flutes), Brian Nesselroad (percussion) and Carolyn Chan (Butoh-inspired dancer) performing a number of new works by BC composers. Written for flute and percussion duo with a Butoh-inspired dancer accompanying, these innovative pieces take influences from a wide range of intercultural sources embracing traditional North Indian Classical music, Asian melodic and harmonic influences, Turkish folk music, Chinese opera, classic Western repertoire, and much more. This performance is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear new intercultural music compositions from BC composers performed in an interesting combination of music and dance.

The Further East / Further West concert series is a production of Vancouver Pro Musica that aims to involve diverse cultural communities in contemporary music making and provide new opportunities for BC composers to create intercultural music.
