Kira Van Deusen
Kira Van Deusen is a professional storyteller and cellist. She traveled extensively in Siberia's forests, tundra and steppe over 15 years, connecting with indigenous traditions, stories and people. She has delighted listeners in Canada, the US, Europe and Russia with adventures in worlds we do not see with the eye, accompanied by her evocative original cello and vocal music. More recently, Kira got hooked on Persian culture closer to home, where Iranian-Canadian friends have helped her to understand the beauty and depth of Persian stories and music.

Among his many achievements, he has performed as a soloist for the Iranian Philharmonic Orchestra, improvised with Master Shajarian (Iran's leading singer in traditional Iranian music) and worked with Mehran Modiri and Mohamad Esfahani's group, Iran's top pop music performers. In 2002, Ali performed at the Jahane Khusrau Music Festival in New Delhi as a member of the Rumi Group.

Allice Bernards
A professional storyteller living on Bowen Island, Allice Bernards came to storytelling as a vocation after having pursued paths that led her to practice and teach Reiki. In 1999 she was moved to tell some stories for her daughter and classmates. It was her realization of storytelling as an art and a means to rediscover the mystery, wonder and fun of being human that inspired Allice to begin telling stories in the larger community.[/size]
