In a dilapidated old house, somewhere in East Vancouver, Sally Kemp–a faded country music singer/waitress in a diner, and her Aunt Phoebe–a crochety old cigar-chomping lesbian, who communicates with her ghost-lover Marcia in the chandelier— face an uncertain future. The house is slated for demolition any day now. Do Sally and Phoebe share the same fate? Sometimes Life in the City of Dreams can be a bit of a nightmare.

After a standing ovation for the first public reading of “Sally Lives Here” at the Gabriola Theatre Centre last summer, Playwright-Performer Lynna Goldhar Smith has collaborated with an award winning creative team...
